Message 7 of 9 12, Views. I think the reason is because the version 3 “driver” zip file does not contain any XP driver file s. Only when someone can point me exactly to the XP drivers will I believe what Linksys is saying. Instead, I had to use the Windows Hardware Install program to make it work. Please tell me exactly what file in the zip file is the XP driver?
I had the exact same problem.
If, however, you download the driver for v. There are no XP drivers on the CD nor are there any on the version 3 driver download file.
Try all the slots on your computer. Download the drivers on your computer I switched to a USB wireless adapter and it was setup and running in a few minutes.
I have decided that the card port is bad after failing to install another brand that actually had XP drivers. I did have to make two install attempts uninstalling between attempts before the installation “took”. I have been a loyal Linksys customer for many dp but this experience is a bad mark against Linksys in liinksys book I am not saying I will not buy Linksys anymore. Every attempt to install via the setup. Please name or link to the XP driver.
I still think Linksys is doing a big disservice to its customers by claiming that linksye card is “compatible” with XP when they do NOT have an XP driver in their software package. Auto-suggest helps you quickly narrow down your search results by suggesting possible matches as you type. I actually got to the point where the card was recognized and I could select the NT drivers.

The only way I could get it to work is by deleting the current linksys software, rebooting, inserting the card and then using the windows prompt to select the drivers I went back to the original disk that shipped with it — I eventually found the ver 4 drivers to download, and they didn’t work either.
I could not get the card to work on a Toshiba Satellite running XP Pro unless the card was in the top slot.
wpc54g does not work with windows xp
If XP drivers exist I would sure like to know where they are. Please do not point me to the “drivers” here at Linksys because, if you unzip pwc54gs “drivers” you will see that there are NO XP drivers.
They even put it on the box. This does not work. I agree that XP people are never going get this installed by following the instructions. Message 4 of 9 13, Views. This would make it so much easier on their customers.
The driver download for v. I think the smart thing, and best thing, for Linksys to do is simply to add actual XP drivers to their software.
