Im using the alesis i02 espress and Im having some trouble getting any playback alesiz out of my setup. Both the audio and midi signals work great and the internal preamp is more than adequate for me.
That being said I am exptess with how the i02 express performs. With a little trial-and-error I was able to successfully record with my DAW on a Windows 7 box and I have no complaints with sound quality. I haven’t tried a mic rophone with it, but for what I want to do home recording with programmed beats, midi keyboard and live electric bassit is perfect. I called the place where I bought it from, and he said it sounded like a faulty box. Worked right out of the box with no hassle, which is not the case for a lot of other Audio Interfaces when you’re using Studio.
